Wentworth Woodhouse is the newest venue on the Galloway Fairs circuit. This grand part-baroque, part palladian country house was started in the 1720s but has been the seat of the Wentworth family since time immemorial. After a major appeal – having been closed for some time – the house is undergoing an estimated £42m restoration. This doesn’t mean however that it remains closed.
This venue will be the sepctacular (if perhaps wuthering) backdrop to the last fair of 2018 for Galloway; and yes, we shall be there. The house is close to Rotherham so access is really easy and set in the glorious Yorkshire countryside will be a spectacular addition to the calendar.
