SOLD – Art Deco Period Silver “Coffee Bean” Spoons

Sweet set of art deco silver demitasse spoons with coffee bean finials

Out of stock

Here we present a stylish set of art deco period coffee/demitasse spoons with coffee bean finials. These delicate spoons are hallmarked for Birmingham 1932 and have a maker’s mark for Barker Bros. Barker Bros were one of the largest UK silverware manufacturers and carry a good recognition of quality.

These coffee spoons come in their original retail box presented with faux snakeskin cover, clip clasp and cream or off white silk lining. The box also retains the retailer’s sticker to interior of box – though this is pretty much unreadable. These are small spoons having small bowls and thin handles; designed for demitasse coffee cups. The coffee beans at the end are probably bakelite or similar.

These spoons are in good vintage condition, all the spoons are undamaged and presented with clear hallmarks. The box, as is to be expected, shows some signs of wear: the interior base is lifting slightly at the edges but is intact and the silk has evidence of stickers having been removed. The outside of box is in lovely condition though.

  • Box: 15 x 13 x 2 cm (5.75 x 5 x .75 inches)
  • Spoons: 9 cm (3.6 inches) long
